Заключительный концерт в виде рождественской истории «To Meet Santa» прошел 25 декабря в 16:00 и стал завершением декады английского языка. Идея собрать вместе Санта Клауса, Деда Мороза, Итальянскую ведьму Бефану, гавайцев и эскимосов с тем, чтобы показать, как люди в разных странах празднуют Рождество и Новый Год, была поддержана. Сценарий был полностью на английском языке, за исключением Российского Деда Мороза. Сценарий отличался от всех традиционных новогодних сказок новизной и современным взглядом и интерпретацией. Учащиеся с удовольствием репетировали и получали удовольствие от процесса подготовки.

Сценарий:

A girl (Rayana) is sitting at the table at writing a letter to Santa:” Dear Santa, all year I was a very good girl! I was a diligent student at school. I always did my homework. I always obeyed my Mom and Dad. I helped with the housework! I would like to ask you to bring joy and happiness to my family and all my relatives. I would like all people in the world to be able to ask about help and to get this help. It is very important to manage to ask about what you need. I wish all people’s dreams come true. I wish peace stay on the Earth and we all appreciate what we have. But my biggest desire is to meet you personally! I am sure we will be very good friends!

Christmas in the Great Britain.

Santa (Ahmed) is sitting at the desk among the piles of letters from children all over the world. (As a background Jingle Bells sounds)

Everyday is the same! I feel like a robot! I get up at 5 o’clock, have cookies and milk for breakfast, go to my Christmas workshop and check what my elfs make for kids all over the world. Then I have cookies and milk for lunch, sleep a little bit and again at 5 o’clock pm have cookies and milk… I am fed up with milk and cookies! I wanna meat, coffee without milk, bananas and lemonade at least.

What I have to listen every day? Me? Who was the most talented Santa in the class? Who played in rock band? Jingle Bells? (He sits at the piano and plays Warriors Imagine Dragons) See! That’s what I like. We live in the 21st century! By the way, my transport, how I move, by reindeers, ridiculous! (Ahmed)

Santa, Santa, your main elf is late because he got stuck in a terrible traffic jam! (Elf)

Дима должен сыграть как режиссер, типа: «Не верю, сколько раз повторять вам, не убедили вы меня, что это за танцы, вы к детям собрались или на дискотеку? Ну-ка еще раз по местам, занять свои позиции» Снежинки с Некитом танцуют свой танец.

Райана и Стас хлопают и кричат «Браво!», Дед Мороз поворачивается к ним и говорит: «А это еще что за диво дивное, зачем пожаловали?»

Christmas is Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. For millions of Christians throughout the world it is the happiest and the busiest time of the year. No one knows the exact date of Christ"s birth but most Christians celebrate Christmas on December 25. The word Christmas comes from Christes masse, an early English phrase that means Mass of Christ.

People of different countries celebrate Christmas in various ways. People in the United States and Canada decorate their homes with Christmas trees, wreaths and ornaments. City streets are filled with coloured lights; the sound of bells and Christmas carols can be heard everywhere.

Children write letters to Santa Claus and tell him what presents they would like to get. Many department stores hire people to wear a Santa Claus costume and listen to children"s requests. People send Christmas cards to relatives and friends. Many companies give presents to their employees.

A Christmas tree is one of the main symbols of Christmas in most homes. Relatives and friends may join in trimming the tree with lights, tinsel, and colourful ornaments. Presents are placed under the tree. On Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, families open their presents.

Many children believe that Santa Claus arrives on Christmas Eve in a sleigh pulled by a reindeer and brings presents. Some children hang up stockings so Santa Claus can fill them with candy, fruit and other small gifts.

In many parts of the United States and Canada groups of people walk from house to house and sing Christmas carols. Some people give singers money or small gifts or invite them for a warm drink.

Many people attend church services on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning. They listen to readings from Bible and singing Christmas carols.

A traditional Christmas dinner consists of stuffed turkey, ь mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a variety of other dishes. Some families have ham or roast goose instead of turkey. Pumpkin pie, plum pudding, and fruitcake are favourite desserts.

The Christmas story

I am the most unusual Christmas character because I am Santa Claus`s bag. Nobody knows where I was born, how old I am etc. But l will tell you my story and describe my most usual day before Christmas.

I with many other bags were born somewhere in northern Finland, in an unknown factory years and years ago. Nobody knows how long I have been living. I was very small when I was bought. Chimney Sweep bought me. He brought me good luck. I lived with him for about two years. Chimney Sweep sold me to the Postman because he needed money.

Postman needed a bag because he had to deliver newspapers and I helpedhim. We delivered newspaper every day, took me very early and we went to work. I liked it very much, but once he lost me. I was very sad, I hoped that he would find me but he didn`t.

One fine day I was found by one of the Santa Clause`s helpers. He brought me to Santa Clause`s Residence and I began to work there. I worked very diligent and soon on one of Christmas Santa Clause came and said:

"My bag is broken, I need a new bag"

"Take this bag, it is very good" offered one of leprechauns.

"Thank you very much" answered Santa.

"Let`s go to give presents for children!" he said to me.

This was the most magical Christmas in my life.

That`s story how I became Santa Clause`s bag. It was a fairy-tale for me, and now making people happy is my work.

Every Christmas we go round the world and give presents for everybody. Santa puts gifts in the stockings hung over the fireplace, but sometimes he puts piece of coals because some children are naughty (this happens very seldom). I have been working for Santa for many years and I have seen different types of presents but I notice something new every year.

I was waiting impatiently for this Christmas because I had nothing to do. Leprechauns began to prepare for Christmas a few months ago. When Christmas Eve came, I was very happy.

That morning I got up very early because I couldn`t sleep, I was excited (I am excited every Christmas).

"Are you ready to give presents for children?" Santa Claus asked me.

"Yes, I am ready, but I am so excited! What can I do?" I asked Santa in response.

"Think about that you bring happiness for children and you`ll stop worrying" he answered me.

I thought about children, they would be happy when they saw presents by Santa. When we passed Denmark Iheard a strange sound. I didn`t understand where it came from. There was a little cat. He was small, grey, fluffy and very pretty.

"Who will get you?" I asked.

"I don`t know this, I hope that my master will be good and kind" said Little Cat.

Santa presented the cat to a girl in one of London`s suburb. A very good girl lives there and I know that Little Cat is very glad to live with her. I see The Cat is very happy, so we meet them every Christmas and we are friends.

Now I am so glad that I was lost so long ago.

Santa and I have presented many different gifts at this Christmas and I am empty now. But I`m not sad because I think that real fortune is to make a lot of people happy.

Я и множество других сумок появился где-то в северной Финляндии на неизвестной фабрике много лет назад. Никто не знает, как долго я живу. Я был очень маленьким, когда меня купили. Меня купил Трубочист, и он принес мне удачу. Я жил у него около двух лет. Но ему понадобились деньги, и он продал меня Почтальону.

Почтальону нудна была сумка для того чтобы разносить газеты, и я помогал ему это делать. Он разносил газеты каждый день, брал меня очень рано и шел на работу. Он мне очень нравился, но однажды он потерял меня. Я был очень расстроен из-за этого и надеялся, что он найдет меня. Но он этого не сделал.

В один хороший день меня нашел Помощник Санты Клауса, он принес меня в резиденцию Санты, и я начал работать там. Я работал очень усердно, и вскоре пришел Санты и сказал:

"Моя сумка порвала, мне нужна новая"

"Возьмите эту сумке, она очень хорошая" предложили Лепреконы.

"Спасибо большое" ответил Санта.

"Пошли дарить подарки детям" сказал он мне.

Это было самое сказочное рождество в моей жизни.

В то утро я проснулся очень рано, я не мог спать, я был очень взволнован (я волнуюсь каждое Рождество).

"Ты готов дарить детям подарки?" спросил меня Санта.

"Да, я готов, но я сильно волнуюсь. Что делать?" спросил я в нетерпении.

"Думай о том, что ты приносишь счастье детым, и ты перестанешь унывать" поведал мне Санта.

Я думал о детях, они должны быть счастливы, когда видят подарки от Санты. Когда мы уже пролетали над Данией, я услышал странный звук. Я не понимал, откуда он идёт. Это был маленький котенок. Он был, серый, маленький, пушистый и очень симпатичный.

"Для кого ты" спросил я.

"Я не знаю этого. Но я надеюсь, что мой хозяин будет добрым и хорошим" сказал Маленький Котенок.

Санта подарил Котенка девочке, живущей в пригороде Лондона. Это очень хорошая девочка, и я знаю, что Котенок очень рад, что живет у нее. Я вижу Маленького Котенка часто, мы встречаем их каждое Рождество и стали друзьями.

Сейчас я даже счастлив, что потерялся много лет назад.

Санта и я подарили множество подарков на это Рождество, и я сейчас пуст. Но я понимаю, что настоящая удача - возможность делать людей счастливыми.

1. Once upon a time there was a little Bear and Little Bear was trying to write a letter to Santa Clause. For it was after Thanksgiving and Christmas was right around the corner. Little Bear had always been told to write a letter to Santa and make sure that Santa knew what Little Bear needed for Christmas. This year though, Little Bear was just too busy to write a letter, as he had so much to do.

Little Bear was more worried about getting gifts for his mom, dad and all his grandparents that he never had time to stop and think about what he needed. So that letter to Santa never was written.

Little Bear was a kind and thoughtful little bear and he always put others before himself. So he went about making gifts for his parents and grandparents. For his mom he dried hundreds of flowers that he had collected all summer. These he made into a wonderful smelling potpourri, He even found a wonderful, only slightly cracked bowl to put the dried flower pedals in, that his mom would just love to see all winter long. For his dad, he made a fishing lure out of an old wine cork and he painted it like a shark from the ocean. For his grandparents he painted a picture of each of them. He hid the paintings in the woods and covered the paintings with leaves and branches, so that no one would see them and spoil the gift.

2. Now all this was good and most proper for a little bear to be doing, but Santa Clause got worried, for he kept track of all the kids in the world and here it was a week before Christmas and no letter from Little Bear. Why there was a letter from Little Calf, Little Squirrel, Little Lamb, Little Blue Jay and millions of others, but no Little Bear. Santa got worried…

You see Santa knows good children and Santa knew that Little Bear was an good child. So Santa grabbed one of his Reindeer and rode to see if Little Bear was okay.

Santa peeking around a tree trunk found Little Bear painting pictures, making lures and drying flowers. Santa also found that Little Bear was so worn out at the end of the day, that he had no time to write a letter to Santa and tell Santa what he wanted. Santa went back home to the North Pole and thought about what to give a little bear that was too busy making gifts for his family to care about what he wanted for Christmas.

Santa came up with a trick to play on Little Bear. Santa would send Mister Owl to ask him what he wanted. Mister Owl went to Little Bear as he was asked by Santa and presented his question, “What would you like for Christmas, Little Bear?”

3. Little Bear looked up in surprise as he was finishing the painting of his great grandpa bear, just two days before Christmas and he paused a few seconds thinking at the last brush stroke and said, “I guess that I do not need anything! For I have all that any little bear could ever want!” Then Little Bear said, “I have hugs, kisses, lots of food and lots of love! What more do I need?” Then he finished the brush stroke and declared the last painting done. In fact he declared all the gifts done and just in time for Christmas which was just two days away…

4. Mister Owl flew back to Santa in the North Pole and reported what he was told. That left Santa in worse shape than he was. For now he had no idea what to get Little Bear. Then since Christmas was two days off and he had to hurry and get done. Santa put his thoughts on the back burner and hurried to get all the gifts together for all the kids all over the world. All the while not knowing what to get a good Little Bear.

Christmas came and Santa put off going to Little Bears home in the deep woods, until last. In fact Little Bear had just gotten up and everyone in the family was gathered around the Christmas Tree in the house and opened up their gifts. Papa Bear and all the rest noticed that Santa had not been by and they were worried. Little Bear had gifts from all the family and he had good gifts of clothes and toys, but the stocking by the fireplace was empty.

Little Bears gifts to the family were a big hit and Papa Bear was so proud of his new fishing lure that he went immediately and stuck it on his fishing hat. That way he would have it safe until spring came and the rivers and lakes thawed from the winter ice. Momma Bear could not get enough deep sweet breaths of her dried flowers and Little Bears grandparents spent all morning hanging their freshly painted portraits that Little Bear had painted. Everyone was very happy, except Santa never came to the house.

5. Little Bear told everyone why he did not get anything from Santa. As Little Bear said, “I did not ask for anything and I did not want anything, for I have all I need!” Then Little Bear said, “I never wrote a letter to Santa!”

Then as everyone thought about what Little Bear just said. There came a rattle, bang, crunch and boom in the front yard of the Bear home in the woods. They all ran to the windows and looked out to see what had happened. Then what appeared before their eyes as the snow settled from being blown around in a whirlwind. There appeared Santa and his reindeer. Then as they stared with wonder a knock came upon the door.

Little Bear ran to the door, for his family was too shocked to go themselves and politely invited Santa to come inside. Santa stepped inside and asked for pardon that he has interrupted the family day of Christmas. Everyone all stared and Santa took that as an OK that all was right. Then Santa asked to speak to Little Bear for a minute.

Papa Bear shook his head yes and his eyes were as big as tea cups. Santa said, “Little Bear, you never sent me a letter!” Little Bear gulped and thought, “Oops I am in trouble!”

Then Santa went on, “I have never had that happen and when Mister Owl came back to me and said that, “Little Bear said, “I have hugs, kisses, lots of food and lots of love! What more do I need?” I had run out of time to try to think of what to get you, Little Bear. So I decided to come by in person and give you a gift that no other kid will have. For kids love to tell me what they want for Christmas, but you did not want anything!”

6. Santa looked at Little Bear and said, “If your Papa and the rest of your family say OK! I want to take all of you to the North Pole and have you spend Christmas with Mrs. Santa Clause, the elves, the reindeer and I. For we always have a late Christmas after everyone else has theirs!”

Faster than a Little Bear can say, “Yippee!”, the whole family crowded into the sled with Santa and before they knew it they were at the North Pole having a special Christmas…

They had games to play with the elves and they even got to meet Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer. He had a cold and his nose was even redder than normal. They ate so much food that they all felt like their clothes would pop the buttons and Mrs. Santa Clause had tears in her eyes as they all had to leave…

Santa dropped them off at their Bear home in the woods and as the sleigh lifted into the sky they heard, “Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas Little Bear!”

Little Bear said later as his mom tucked him in bed, “I got the best Christmas gift in the whole world and I am glad that my whole family was able to share in it.”

Then he said as his tired eyes closed, “There really is a Santa!”
